Cold-chain logistics connects validated storage conditions to real-world transportation.
Define the transport requirement
The shipping condition should be based on stability data. “Keep cold” is not a scientifically adequate specification.
Packaging qualification
A qualified shipper should be challenged under expected and worst-case conditions, including:
- summer heat
- winter cold
- shipment delay
- orientation
- reduced refrigerant
- vibration
- extended duration
Temperature loggers
Logger placement should reflect the point most likely to experience temperature change. One poorly placed logger may not represent the entire package.
